Two Killed As Rival Gangs Clash In Ajegunle

No fewer than two persons have been reportedly killed, on Friday, 14th July, 2023 in a deadly attack involving street boys in Ajegunle, a densely populated community in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government area of Lagos State.

Several others have also been said to have sustained serious wounds and many lost their property during the fracas as the fighters reportedly fought themselves with cutlasses, axes, cudgels and other dangerous weapons.

It was gathered that Friday’s fight was a reprisal from Monday, July 10th’s attack between the rival street boys at Alayabiagba Street and Ogbowankwo axis of the community.

The source said the brawl, which lasted for about three hours, was more intense than the previous one, as people, this time around, locked themselves inside their houses and traders abandoned their wares and scampered alongside passersby, for safety.

Trouble started, Saturday Tribune learnt, when some street boys besieged Alayabiagba’s Street around 9.00 am, to retaliate against the alleged slabbing to death of one of them by the rival street boys during a fight a few days earlier.

The sources further explained that those who came on reprisal came on a mission to kill the person, who allegedly stabbed one of them and that they achieved their aim by stabbing the person, simply identified as Wale, a barber, to death.
