This is a passionate appeal to spirited Nigerians, especially sports lovers across Nigeria, to rally round Comrade Aloysius Okerieke, a veteran Sports journalist and Delta State YSFON Secretary, who has been bedridden for over five months.
It was gathered that Comrade Aloy Okerieke, who is unable to stand, walk or do anything unaided since early 2023, is down with osteoporosis arthritis of the knee bones and needs about N5million for surgery.
Aloy Okerieke, a well-known journalist, has worked for sports newspapers such as Complete Sports, Sports Souvenir, Soccer Star, Sporting Tribune and Sporting Sun, and very versatile in the coverage of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
According to reports from his base, Delta State SWAN and NUJ Warri Chapel, where he belongs have tried all they could to solicit for financial assistance to save their colleague, but no genuine response has come his way.
“Aloy’s present condition is terrible. Firstly, he needs our prayers to overcome his health issues. Secondly, Aloy needs good medical attention, which includes a surgery so that he can be back on his feet again,” his colleagues told eyeonthenews.com.
Meanwhile, this passionate appeal is to call on all friends and colleagues of Aloy Okerieke, including members of SWAN, NUJ and other Nigerians to contribute their widows might to help him get out of his present situation.
