Zamalek Whip Enugu Rangers 4-1 In Cairo

Nigerian representatives in the 2017 CAF Champions League, Rangers International Football Club of Enugu lost 4-1 to Zamalek of Egypt in a round of 32 first-leg match at El-Salam Stadium in Cairo on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes conceded three goals in the first half of the encounter as Nigerian boy Stanley Ohawuchi led the Egyptian side to score an early goal while two other goals were scored by Hossam Salama and Ayman Hefni.

Mostafa Fathi ruined the day for the Nigerian Professional Football League champions when he scored a penalty in the 54th minute.

Striker Bobby Clement however scored a consolatory goal for Rangers before full time.

Zamalek will be in Nigeria for the reverse fixture on 17 March, 2017. The match will take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu State.
