A 50-year-old trader, Mrs. Idowu Ismaila, charged with attempting to remove neighbour’s manhood from it base was on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, eyeonthenews.com reports.
Ismalia, a resident of No. 4, Eyiowawi St., Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, is being tried for assault and threat to life.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector George Nwosu, the accused committed the offences on December 19 at her residence.
He said that the accused assaulted her neighbour, one Mr Ator Philip, by attempting to remove his testicle which caused him harm.
“The accused indecently assaulted the complainant by dragging and squeezing his testicle,” he said.
Nwosu said that the complainant ran into the accused who was carrying her food condiment to the kitchen.
“The complainant collided with the accused at the passage and the salt and maggi she was holding fell on the ground.
“The accused then grabbed the complainant, who was only wearing a boxer and started twisting his scrotum, threatening to kill him for pouring away her condiment.
“The complainant was in pain and he shouted for help, co-tenants rushed to rescue him.
“The accused refused to release the complainant’s scrotum until one of their co-tenants bit her hands before she let go. The complainant was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” he told eyeonthenews.com.
The prosecutor said that the complainant had spent N164,000 at the hospital yet his penis could not erect anymore.
“The accused has rendered the complainant impotent due to his attacked on his manhood,” he said
The offences, Nwosu said, contravened sections 56 and 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 171 prescribes three years imprisonment as penalty for assault.
The accused pleaded innocence of the offences and was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mr A.A Adesanya, adjourned the case to February 15 for mention.
