Super Eagles striker, Mfom Udoh has rubbished a report he had a bout with stroke ailment.
Udoh who netted a record 23 goals in the 2013/2014 Nigeria Professional Football League to become Nigeria’s all time domestic Premier League top scorer, was reported to be battling with stroke by a national sports newspaper.
But, the Enyimba forward disclosed to on Tuesday that though he had been sick, it wasn’t related to stroke illness.
“What happened was that I felt sick when I was invited to the Super Eagles camp preparatory to the match against Chad in the 2017 AFCON qualifiers”, Mfon disclosed.
“Because of that, I took permission from the team coach and I left for home to treat myself. Yes, I was sick but that had nothing to do with stroke at all.
“As I speak with you, I’m fully recovered and will rejoin my Enyimba teammates in camp in about two days from now for our league games.
“This clarification is very important because one is always looking forward to better things in his career more so now that I have the dream to take my career to Europe as well as helping the Super Eagles in the AFCON qualifiers and ensuring that I contribute my quota to help my club Enyimba do well in the league”, he said.
