U-20: Nigeria’ Falconets Drub S/Africa

Nigeria’s Falconets Saturday evening defeated South Africa 6-0 in the Canada 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying match at the Abuja National Stadium.
A brace from Halimatu Ayinde, and a goal each from Asisat Oshoala, Yetunde Adeboyejo, Winifred Eyebhoria and Sunday Uchechi-Lopes sealed victory for the Nigerian ladies.
Oshoala shot the Nigerian ladies into the lead in the match, while Halimatu Ayinde and
Yetunde Adeboyejo scored the second and third goals.
The one-sided encounter saw Winifred Eyebhoria netting Nigeria’s fourth goal, while Sunday Uchechi-Lopes and Ayinde’s second, made it fifth and sixth goals for the Falconets.
It would be recalled that the Falconets defeated Tunisia 8-0 on aggregate in their last match, while South Africa drubbed Tanzania 9-1 to qualify for the final round encounter.
With Nigeria winning the first leg convincingly by 6 goals in Abuja, the Falconets need just a draw in the return leg in South Africa to qualify for the U-20 World Cup.
