Tsonga Cruises To Q/Final At French Open

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was roared to a superb win by a home crowd as he beat Tomas Berdych 6-3 6-2 6-7 (5-7) 6-3 to make the French Open quarter-finals.
Tsonga failed to serve out at 5-4 up in the third, but delivered two aces in the final game to oust the fourth seed.
On a rain-affected day, Ana Ivanovic beat Ekaterina Makarova 7-5 3-6 6-1 to make the last eight for the first time since lifting the title in 2008.
Roger Federer and Gael Monfils were one set all when play was suspended. The winner will go on to face Stan Wawrinka, who swept past Gilles Simon 6-1 6-4 6-2.
Tsonga will play Kei Nishikori next after the Japanese fifth seed enjoyed a straightforward 6-3 6-4 6-2 win over Teymuraz Gabashvili.
