Tinubu: I’m Running For 2023 Presidency

Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of ruling All Progressives Congress, has said he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to vie for the Presidency in 2023.

There have been rumours of Tinubu’s ambition to become Nigeria’s next president when Buhari’s second and last term ends next year, but this is the first time the ‘Jagaban’ has spoken on it openly.

“I can answer a categorical yes. I have informed the President of my intention, but I have not informed the Nigerians yet.

“I am still consulting,” Tinubu said in an interview with the Media after he held an indoor meeting with Buhari on Monday.

“I have no problem consulting and I have not set a parameter of limitation to the extent of how many people will I consult,” he added.

“You will soon hear all you want to hear. It’s a categorical declaration. You’ve gotten that truth from me that I have informed Mr President of my ambition, and you don’t expect more answers than that,” Tinubu explained.

In an interview on privately owned Channels TV on Thursday, Buhari said he had no anointed successor, declaring that he did not care about whoever succeeds him.
