Surulere Throw Lagos Junior League Open

Surulere Sport City Football Club achieved an almost impossible task when they defeated Y.M.D Babes of Ojo in their Lagos Junior League, LJL match played at LASU play ground on Sunday.
Surulere held on to a single goal scored early in the second half and played a game oozing of determination to subdue the highly rated Ojo side.
This score line has once again thrown open the title race between Ojo, Surulere, Apapa and Ifako Ijaiye all back in contention.
Ifako Ijaiye also continued their impressive form as they routed Ajeromi Ifelodun 7-2 in their Premier league match. Two goals in the first ten minutes of the game from Akinde Surah and Akeem Taiwo set the mood for a complete drubbing of their opponents before Koku Mensa pulled one back for Ajeromi Ifelodun in the 12th minute. But after two first half goals and three more in the second half, the game went beyond the reach of the Ajeromi boys.
In League 1, Orile Agege have had a lovely week by first defeating Lekki in their rescheduled encounter and then pulled off a grand coup as a lone goal over Egbe Idimu helped propel them to the top of the table. Ibeju lekki also trumped local rivals Lekki FC 2-1 to clear the terrain for their comeback into contention.
