Surulere Maintain Lagos Junior League Top Spot

.As Agege Giants Beat Apapa Iganmu In Thrilling Match –

Lagos Junior League, LJL, leaders Surulere Sport City Football Club remain on top of the Premier League table, as they drubbed Ajeromi Ifelodun 3-0 in a week seven match at Alade Stadium on Saturday.
Michael Chibueze opened scoring for Surulere barely 14 minutes into the match. Oyeamachi Daniel increased the tally 18 minutes later, as the Ajeromi side were clueless for greater part of the match, struggling with the pace of their opponents.
The second half was not better for the Ajegunle side as Surulere sealed their victory two minutes from time with a clinical finish by Fadeyi Sunday.
In another Lagos Junior League match, it was goal feast at Legacy Pitch at the National Stadium in Surulere same day, when Agege Giants
hosted Apapa Iganmu Football Club.
It took only 30 seconds for the game to come alive, as Obong John put Apapa Iganmu ahead through a powerful shot from about 18 yards away from the goal post.
Obong John continued to torment the Agege side and ensured that his side were two goals up within 32 minutes. The second half however saw a rejuvenated Agege side, who attacked their Apapa foes with vengeance,.
Steven Odey brought the Agege Giants back into contention just one minute after the restart, while Musa Kareem scored their deserving eqauliser.
Apapa Iganmu however shot themselves at the foot when Emmanuel Kadiri brought down an Agege player in the vital area.
Kadiri got a red card for his unsportsmanlike tackle, while Awoniyi Adebisi converted the resulting penalty kick to put Agege one goal ahead.
Steven Odey finally buried their opponents with his second goal two minutes into the added time, ending the thrilling encounter 4-2 in favour of the Agege Giants.
