The followers of Globacom Nigeria Premier League, NPL, will soon have something to cheer, as officials of SuperSport, the premium sports content provider on DStv, say they would help propel the league to attain the standard of top European leagues such as; the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga  and German Bundesliga.

 General Manager, SuperSport West Africa, Felix Awogu, revealed the big plan for the NPL while speaking on the company’s renewed package for the new European season at a media parley held at the SWAN Secretariat, National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos recently.

Awogu revealed that one of SuperSport’s main objectives is to assist the Nigeria Premier League become the biggest in Africa. He noted that the nation’s football league has produced quality stars who are doing the nation proud in various leagues across the world and in international competitions.

He added that SuperSport plans to broadcast over 1,500 top-flight live football matches from across the best leagues in the world to football loving Nigerians in the new football season, which kicked off last month.
