Stores Host 3SC In Historic NNL Match

The Onikan Stadium in Lagos is the place to be on Thursday, when an old rivalry is rekindled between Stationery Stores of Lagos and Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC of Ibadan.
Stores and 3SC will clash in the Nigeria National League, NNL, Match Day 3 of the 2013/2014 season slated to start from 4pm at the popular Onikan Stadium, where both clubs used to tango in the Nigeria top flight and FA Cup.
Interestingly, ex-international, Coach Taiwo Eneagwa will lead Stores against 3SC, who are also coached by another ex-international, Franklin Howard.
It would be recalled that Stores returned to Division 1 football this season, when they occupy a slot vacated by cash-strapped Union Bank of Lagos in the National League.
The Adebajo Babes, as Stores are fondly called commenced their campaign in the NNL with a scoreless home draw against Abia Comets two weeks ago.
Captain Ayo Filani also led Stores to play a 1-1 draw with Gateway United FC of Abeokuta at the MKO Abiola Stadium last weekend.
Stores’ returning rivals from Ibadan, 3SC were relegated to the NNL from the Nigeria Premier League, NPL last season after finishing last on the table.
The Oluyole Warriors opened their NNL season with a goalless draw against Remo Stars at the Dipo Dina Stadium, but came out stronger to defeat City of David, COD FC of Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan last weekend.
3SC, are going into Thursday’s match with 4 points which put them in the second position in the NNL Group B table, while their hosts; Stores have just 2 points and placed 12th on the log.
3SC would like to extend their unbeaten run, but can they stop the Adebajo Babes who are desperate to win their first NNL match?
