Siasia Favoured, As Pillars Shortlist Coaches

Former Super Eagles Chief Coach, Samson Siasia is favoured to take over as Head Coach of Kano Pillars Football Club, as the technical committee of the team get set to shortlist coaches to take over the Nigerian champions.
Siasia has been linked with the top coaching position at Pillars before the end of last football season.
Although, Club Chairman Abba Yola denied a deal with Siasia, but he described him as “a friend of the house”.
Siasia has not held a coaching position since he was sacked by Nigeria in October 2011.
The step to hire another coach followed the departure of former Coach of Pillars, Mohammed Babaganaru, who has signed for Nasarawa United Football Club ahead of the new season.
Babaganaru won the Nigeria Premier League, NPL back-to-back for Pillars in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 seasons.
“The technical committee will meet on Monday to draw up a short list of coaches to be considered for the position vacated by Babaganaru,” Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa told backpagetxt.
It was gathered that Abdu Maikaba, who is on a coaching course at National Institute for Sports, NIS, will remain as Pillars’ Number 2 coach.
