By Kayode Ayeni,Ibadan –

It was a hard fought victory Sunday evening at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan, as Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) defeated visiting Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC of Ilorin 2-0 in a Nigeria Professional Football League match.

The game started on a pacy note with the homers asking all the question in the 16th minute when Alaba Osawe’s goal bound header was saved by ABS defender.

Again in the 17th, Wasiu Jimoh wasted a very good opportunity when he missed from six yards.

Eventually in the second half, Shile Ibrahim got the curtain raiser in the 19th minute off a well taken corner kick by Wasiu Jimoh.

Immediately after the goal it was all 3SC which led to the second goal in the 85th minute when Sunday Faleye unleashes a stunner into the far corner of the net.

Speaking after the game, coach of ABS said his heart bleads for Nigerian Football and that he has nothing else to say.

Meanwhile 3SC coach, Edith Agoye described the victory as long overdue for Shooting Stars, assuring that the team will keep on working to maintain their status in the League.

The Match Day 25 encounter of the NPFL had in attendance former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Adegboye Onigbinde and former Secretary General of the Federation, who doubles as Chairman of Osun State Football Association, Chief TAIWO Ogunjobi among other dignitaries.
