Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Sunday outshine visiting Niger Tornadoes by two goals to one in a Match Day 18 clash of the Nigeria Pro-Football League played at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex in Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The encounter started on a pacy note with the home team seizing the initiatives in the early minutes of the match with 3SC’s Ayobami Junior effort tipped over the bar by Tornadoes’ keeper Mustafa Aliko in the 28th minute.
Immediately after the save, 3SC goalkeeper Charles Tembe saved a one-on-one situation, preventing Ebenezer Adeyemi of Tornadoes from scoring.
However against the run off play, 3SC’s enterprising midfielder Babalola Ibraheem found Faleye Sunday who unleashed a stunner into the far corner for the opening goal of the match in the 36th minute.
On resumption of the second half, the homers continued from where they stopped bombarding Tornadoes’ defence thereby missing a couple of chances to increase the tally.
3SC’s inability to increase the tally allowed Tornadoes to bounce back into the game with an equalizer in the 37th minute of the second half.
With time ticking away, 3SC secured the winning goal of the match on the dot of of regulation time through Cameroonian import Ashiri.
