Sharks Beat Rangers To Stay Top Of NPL

Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt on Wednesday, 21 May, 2014 continued their smooth run in the Glo Nigeria Premier League, NPL, when they defeated Rangers International of Enugu 1-0 in a Week 14 Midweek match.
Christian Pyagbara scored the decisive goal in the 18th minute of the encounter against the Flying Antelopes, who went back to the Coal City empty handed.
The Blue Angels, as Sharks are popularly known, extend their unbeaten run to eight matches and continue to keep top spot in the Glo Premier League with 26 points, two points ahead of second-placed Nasarawa United, that also defeated Giwa Football club 2-0 on Wednesday.
Two first half goals from Esosa Igbinoba and Tony Edjomariegwe gave Nasarawa United a clear victory against Giwa.
Meanwhile, Giwa FC dropped out of the top half of the table following their defeat today, while Gombe United will confront Sunshine Stars of Akure in Bauchi on Thursday.
