Serena Cruises To Miami Final, Djokovic In Semis

World Number 1 Serena Williams had a tough battle with third seed Simona Halep 6-2, 4-6 and 7-5 to set up a Miami Open final showdown against Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro.
After the first set and with Serena in top form, it looked to be a straightforward night at Key Biscayne for the seven-time Miami champion, but the contest turned into an 128-minute slug fest as Halep simply refused to fold.
Meanwhile, Djokovic Novak Djokovic recovered from a slow start to overcome Spaniard David Ferrer to reach the Miami Open semi-finals.
Serbia’s world Number 1 Djokovic, triumphed 7-5, 7-5 to set up a meeting with big-serving American John Isner, who overpowered Japan’s world Number 5 Kei Nishikori 6-4 6-3.
