A 55-year-old civil servant, Folorunso Ogundare, who can no longer tolerate the adultery nature of his wife, Folashade, has appeared before Igando Customary Court in Lagos, seeking a dissolution to their matrimonial union.

Ogundare told the court on Friday, 20 January, 2017 that his wife, Folashade, with whom he had three children in their 12 years of marriage was adulterous that she got pregnant for one of her lovers.

“My wife is adulterous, she has numerous male friends and she succeeded in infecting me with gonorrhea from her promiscuous act.

“She is dating her boss and two of my friends.
“I once read a message that one of her lovers who happens to be my best friend sent to her phone, texting her the address of the hotel they will meet for that day.

“She had a fight with our neighbour, who called her a prostitute claiming that she was the one that took her to the hospital for abortion when she got pregnant for her boss,” he said.

The petitioner also alleged that his wife always starved him of sex but prefer giving it to her men friends.

“Whenever I want to make love to her, she would refuse and tell me to go and make love to my mother,” the man stated.

Ogundare pleaded with the court to dissolve the union, saying that he was tired of the relationship.

However, Folashade, 37, teacher, denied infecting her husband with gonorrhea, saying that her husband engages in extra-marital affairs.

“How will my husband accuse me of infecting him with STD when he had numerous girl friends?
“I am not the only one he is sleeping with. He is sleeping with my friend’s sister, our landlord’s daughter and the home teacher of our children,” she said.

The respondent said that she denied her husband sex because he was not caring for her and her children but wanted to turn her to a sex slave.

“He does not feed the family. Anytime he received his salary, he will take it to his mother.

“That was why I always tell him to go and sleep with his mother since it was his mother that collects his salary,” she said.

The mother of three accused her husband of defaming her character noting that he used to call her all sorts of derogatory names.

“My husband used to call me a thief, prostitute, witch and other names both at home and in public,” she said.

She pleaded with the court to grant Ogundare’s wish, saying that she was also no longer interested in the marriage.

The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, after listening to the estranged couple, adjourned the case to February 2 for further hearing.
