Please, Forgive Me: That’s Jonathan’s Farewell Message To Nigerians

Out-going President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Sunday sent a passionate apology to Nigerians, asking them for forgiveness over his policies and actions during his time in office.
Jonathan, who was visibly worried about the feeling of Nigerians over his reign as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for the past six or eight years, apologised to those he may have offended in the course of carrying out his assignment first as Vice President, and bowing out as the President.
Speaking during a farewell service organised for the outgoing first family on Sunday at the Aso Villa Chapel, Jonathan said no one is perfect and there is no way he would not have stepped on toes, noting that if he did, it was not deliberate.
“I must express our gratitude to those who have stood with us. I came in as Vice President with my wife, today I’m leaving as the former President.
“I will state clearly that all we have achieved is through you. Let me specifically thank the chaplain, the clergymen, the pastors and their wives for their support”, Jonathan said.
He said his administration has every reason to be thankful to God, adding that he gave his best for the country.
