The League Management Company, LMC says Kano Pillars and Enyimba International of Aba would on Tuesday, 8 October replay their troubled Nigeria Premier League, NPL, match in Lokoja, Kogi State.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Football Federation’s O&D once awarded three points and three goals to Enyimba against Pillars after the crisis ridden encounter.
Following the decision, no point was deducted from Pillars, while Enyimba moved to the top of the NPL table having garnered a total of 58 points. However, following an appeal by the rival club, the apex football ruling body upturned its earlier decision, ordering a replay in Lokoja, though the ruling did not go down well with Enyimba.
However, the Week 36 NPL games earlier fixed for Sunday, 13 October, 2013 have been moved forward to Saturday, 12 October by the LMC.
Speaking on the shift, LMC top shot, Mallam Salisu Abubakar, told eyeonthesports.com that the league body moved the games to be played 24 hours earlier because of the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Ethiopia and Nigeria’s Super Eagles, which holds in Addis Ababa on 13 October.
Abubakar further hinted that all Week 37 matches of the NPL will hold Wednesday next; 16 October, while the 2012/2013 NPL season would be rounded off with the Match-day 38 fixtures on Sunday, 20 October.
