Pastor In Court To Divorce ‘Rebel Wife’

After series of threat to his life by his wife, one 65 years old Pastor Sunday Ajayi has approached the Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State to dissolve their marriage of 34 years.

Pastor Sunday Ajayi said that, his wife Pastor Mrs Deborah Folasade Ajayi who bore him six children is a thief and wants to kill him.

“She has not been faithful to me for 34 years of our marriage and she is highly irresponsible for the future of our children.

“She is lazy and wants to kill me, most times she said that if I don’t bow down to her, I wiil lose my life.

“There was a time she stole the Church Curtain, which was found in her closet after one year.

“She often tells me the holy spirit tells her not to work, but each time she sees money with me, she would say she wants to work again, just to
obtain money from me.

She has since left my Church to go and start a rebel church”, the Pastor told the Court.

Responding, Pastor Mrs Deborah Folasade Ajayi, 60 said “I don’t want the marriage to be dissolved for the sake of our children. And, I don’t want to go back to my fahter’s house because I swore an oath to stay with my husband for better for worse”.

She later begged for forgiveness from his husband and members of his family, adding that they should forgive her if she has offended them one way or the other.

The Court President, Chief Olasunkanmi Agbaje adjourned the case to 5 April, 2017, for further hearing and asked both parties to bring their
family members on the adjourned date.
