Oyo Gov. Allays Fears Over Enforcement Of Tax Regime

By Kayode Ayeni –

Gorvenor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has allayed fears gripping the citizens, who have been expressing concern about the enforcement of tax regime, saying it’s the government’ efforts to increase the revenue base of the state.

He said the tax drive is not meant to create hardship for the people, adding that the government is only blocking the loopholes affecting the state’s economy.

Speaking through the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr. Toye Arulogun on a live Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) programme, the gorvenor said the government wasn’t introducing new tax laws, but enforcing the laws that had been in existence, which are backed by the constitution of the Country.
