Scorer of the wonder goal against Sudan, in the return fixture which Nigeria won by 3-1 in Abuja, Aaron Samuel and Ogenyi Onazi were among the first set of players to arrive camp Monday evening, as the Super Eagles camp gathers momentum ahead of the all-important Nations Cup qualifier duel against Congo Red Devils in Point Noir on Saturday evening.
The camp is in Abuja, the Nigerian Federal Capital. Before the arrival of the foreign legion, eight home-based stars were already waiting to receive them to camp and what a sight it was when the foreign and the locals met.
By the last count before going to bed, players such Aaron Samuel, Sunday Emmanuel, Omatsone Aluko, Hope Akpan, Godfrey Oboabona, Raheem Lawal and Ogenyi Onazi were already in camp and set to go.
Head Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi was also in camp ready for action and he did say from Monday, business in the Super Eagles will be like never before. “We have played with ourselves for sometimes, now is time for business and we have to get the job done and no kidding with players and officials from Monday”, he declared.
More players were expected late on Monday, with Keshi insisting that whether they have enough players or not, training will effectively take off Tuesday evening.
“We have said we can qualify the country and we are ready for that task, now is time for action and less talk”, he said.
