Nigeria’s kid tennis sensation, Mary-love Edwards, who just returned from a one-month training programme and Omolade Aderemi from Ondo, both defeated their opponents in the other matches decided yesterday.
Godwin Kienka, Director of International Tennis Academy, ITA, organisers of the event, expressed satisfaction with the level of competition on the first day of the tournament, stating that, “this is just the beginning.
“By Friday, things would have gotten hotter as we approach the final stages of the event. We want parents and tennis lovers to come around to watch these young talents do what they know how to do best”.
The tournament continues on Tuesday at the LLTC, which is featuring boys and girls in the U-10, 12, 14 and 16 age categories.
