NNL Bans Go Round Officials Over Hooliganism

The Executive Board of the Nigeria National League (NNL) has suspended indefinitely, two officials of Rivers state-based team, Go-Round FC of Omoku for acts of hooliganism and harassment of match officials.
Also, the club will pay a fine of Three Hundred Thousand Naira only for bringing the league to disrepute.
 
The culprits, Sunny Uboh who is the club’s Team Manager and his colleague, John Amaobi. Uboh were accused of jumping out of the State Box to interfere with the proceedings of the game by encroaching into the field of play to request his players to discontinue with the match against Abia Comets FC in Umuahia.
 
Amaobi was said to have pulled off his shirt and ran into the pitch to fight match officials when an off-side was awarded against his team in the same match.
 
The NNL, in a letter conveying the suspension notice to Rivers State Football Association and the Management of Go-Round FC signed by NNL Secretary, Lawrence Katken, said that the Go-Round officials committed the offences during the club’s league match against host, Abia Comets FC of Umuahia.
 
It said it has reviewed the reports it received from the match officials and seen that the culprits have breached the Rules and Regulations of the league as it affects Articles 3.7(1) and 3.7 (3).
 
The League Board said it has no alternative than to apply the law by handing down a fine of N300, 000.00 to Go-Round for acts of intimidation and harassment of match officials. In addition, both Sunny Uboh and John Amaobi have been suspended indefinitely from all NNL matches. 
 
NNL warned that this is an interim measures by the league body pending its ratification or otherwise by the NFF Disciplinary Committee in due course.
It could be recalled that Uboh and his club officials were warned a week ago in a letter dated 8 June, 2015 to desist from any act (s) that will bring the League into disrepute
