NNL Bans Abia Comets’ Official, Warn FA

Following the alleged molestation of match officials in the Week 4 encounter between Abia Comets and Prime FC of Ogbomosho which ended 1-1 last weekend, the Nigeria National League, NNL, has slammed various degrees of sanctions on Team Secretary of the Aba-based team for bringing the game into disrepute.
Consequently, Hon. Jude Agbara who was said to have led other unidentified persons to assault the match officials on their way to the dressing room after the match, has been banned indefinitely from all the activities of the NNL pending other sanctions by the Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
In the same vein, Abia Comets were fined the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000.00) only. It must be paid within three weeks of the pronouncement by the NNL secretariat headed by Mr. Lawrence Katken who signed the letter suspending the erring officer.
The league body also warned the Abia State Football Association and Abia Comets to henceforth ensure the security of all parties before, during and after their home matches in line with Article 6.0 (1) of the rules of the NNL.
