Nigeria Super Falcons on Tuesday defeated their Cameroonian counterparts 1-0 in an international friendly match played inside the FIFA Goal Project, National Stadium Package B in Abuja.
Asisat Oshoala got the only goal for Falcons in the 85th minute to put smiles on the faces of the fans who turned out to support the Super Falcons.
“I am very happy for the goal I scored, being the only goal for my team, though, the match was very tough but we are happy we got victory at last”, an elated Oshoala said.
In a post match chat, coach Okon was happy his girls created many scoring opportunities, adding that he and his assistants will work on the team’s finishing.
“As you can see, we are in the process of rebuilding a new team and I think the players are struggling to score because they did not play to the instructions. Our task now is to work on them to ensure they convert our chances.
“There are no easy matches, you must labour to win matches and I am happy that our labour did not go in vain”, the coach said.
