CHAN: Nigeria Walk Tight Rope

Nigeria’s Super Eagles walk a tight rope as they battle Mozambique in a must win African Nations Championship, Chan match in Cape Town on Wednesday.
Although, one or both teams would head back home after today’s match, as Mozambique lost their opening match 1-3 to South Africa, while the Super Eagles were defeated 1-2 by the Eagles of Mali.
But, the Eagles may continue in the competition if they beat Mozambique. The Nigerian team have not lost in their last three games against the Mambas of Mozambique. Nigeria defeated Mozambique twice in 2009 and 2010 with the other tie ending goalless.
Already, Mozambique Coach, Joao Chissano, has deflected the pressure off his team by insisting that the Nigerians are under pressure and condemned to win.
Nigerian Coach, Stephen Keshi however believes that his team know the importance of the encounter against Mozambique ‘after their opening day loss to Mali’.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper and skipper of the Nigerian side, Chigozie Agbim says the Eagles must play the game of their lives and defeat Mozambique if they want to continue with their ambition at this year’s CHAN.
