Nigeria Play Goalless Draw With Mexico

.Eagles’ World Cup Foes; Bosnia-Herzegovina Lose 0-2 To Egypt –

Nigeria’s Super Eagles played a goalless draw in an international friendly match against Mexico in Atlanta Wednesday night, early Thursday in Nigeria.
The tune up match kick-started Nigeria’s preparations for the Brazil 2014 World Cup slated for June this year.
The match, which featured Coach Stephen Keshi’s regular players such as John Mikel Obi of Chelsea, Ogenyi Onazi of Lazio of Italy, Victor Moses of Liverpool and skipper/goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama of FC Lille of France, also had a few new faces which included Ramon Azeez, Ochebo and Ezekiel in action.
The Nigerian team started the encounter on a high, as right and left backs; Elderson Echiejile and Ambrose Efe consistently overlapped to helped the attack, but the Eagles failed to score because Moses was a bit selfish each time he had the ball inside the box.
Turkey-based striker, Emmanuel Emenike could have made the difference, but he was made to labour for the ball, and Ahmed Musa was not accurate with his blind shots against the Mexicans, who had more ball possession in the second half.
The night was a nightmare for German-born Nigerian defender, Leon Balogun, who suffered an injury barely ten minutes after he made his debut for his fatherland. The last match between Nigeria and Mexico also ended 2-2.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s group opponents at Brazil 2014 World Cup, Bosnia-Herzegovina lost their friendly match 0-2 to the Pharaohs of Egypt, while Argentina, who will also confront the Eagles
at the mundial played a goalless draw against Romania.
