Nigeria Now 43 In FIFA Rankings

Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who will not be at Equatorial Guinea 2015 to defend the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, trophy they won in South Africa in 2013, have again dropped in the monthly FIFA rankings.
In the Rankings released by the Federation of International Football Associations, FIFA, on Thursday in Zurich, Nigeria dropped to the 43rd position following the country’s inability to qualify for the next Nations Cup.
The Nigerian senior national team, who have a total of 656 points, dropped by one place in the latest classifications and are currently ranked 9th in Africa.

Algeria, Tunisia, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana, Guinea, Cape Verde and Cameroon are the African countries ranked above Nigeria in the latest rankings.

Meanwhile, Germany and Argentina are first and second best teams respectively in the FIFA Rankings for December, while Colombia, Belgium and the Netherlands are the third, fourth and fifth countries in that order.
