NFF’s Affiliate Backs Maigari

The South South zone of the Nigeria Football Federation has passed an absolute vote of confidence on NFF President, Aminu Maigari and the Zone’s Coordinator of the body, Barrister Christopher Green.
In a 7-point communiqué issued at the end of the zone’s congress at Muriela Hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Friday, 13 December, the body also decided to organize Pre-season tournaments in the zone to enhance unity and toughen club sides from the zone for national and international challenges.
One of the resolutions of the zone was also the appointment of Dr Peter Singabele, as the Zone’s Patron and the setting up of a four-man reconciliation committee.
The committee will be chaired by Dr Singabele and has Delta FA boss, Amaju Pinnick and Oswald Atueke as members, Benjamin Akobo will serve in the committee as Secretary.
The communiqué also advised the various stakeholders in the zone to ensure that the state FA’s are empowered and supported to carry out their statutory function of managing football in the zone.
Finally, it decided that the body will henceforth meet quarterly to chart a better way forward for the zone if football.
