‘Why NFF Tech Committee Opted For Keshi’

The Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has explained reasons it could not ask Stephen Keshi to go, hence the need to renew his contract as Coach of the Super Eagles.
The Committee’s Chairman, Felix Anyansi said his members have passed their recommendation to the NFF to retain Keshi “because they believe he can still deliver for the country”.
Keshi’s contract as the Eagles’ Coach expired after the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil.
But the federation engaged him on a part-time basis to prosecute the last few games of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, which ended in Nigeria not qualifying for the tournament held in Equatorial Guinea.
“We deliberated on a whole lot of things and you know there was a lot of grey areas in that deal but we’ve made a recommendation which the board will consider and decide on”, Anyansi told journalists after their meeting in Abuja.
In Anyansi’s summary, there is nothing wrong with the choice of Keshi, noting that the NFF is hell bent in ensuring that its rebuilding process of the team continues.
