.Nigeria President, Goodluck Jonathan is surprised that the crisis rocking the country’s football administration is attracting an indefinite ban from the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA.
Eyeonthesports gathered that Jonathan, who is scheduled to host the new African Women Championship, AWC, winners; Super Falcons on Wednesday in Abuja, has invited newly elected President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick to update the presidency about the lingering crisis at the football house.
It is expected that Jonathan’s intervention may put an end to the NFF crisis. Only on Tuesday, The Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, Dr. Tammy Danagogo ordered quick and unambiguous resolution of the crisis threatening to tear Nigeria football, and directed feuding parties to sheathe their swords in the interest of peace.
It would be recalled that FIFA, on Tuesday, directed Nigeria to reinstate the Amaju Pinnick-led Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, latest by midday on Friday, 31 Octtober or risk a lengthy suspension.
