Musa, Enyeama Shortlisted For African Player Of The Year Award

Nigeria’s Ahmed Musa and Vincent Enyeama have been included in the list of 25 players shortlisted as the Confederation Africaine de Football, CAF, announced nominees for the 2014 African Player of the Year.

Of the twenty-five (25) players nominated for the topmost Player of the Year, only Super Eagles duo of strikerAhmed Musa of CSKA Moscow and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama of Lille FC of France made the cut, while Ejike Uzoenyi of Rangers FC of Enugu is the only Nigerian player in the 20-man list for the Player of the Year (Based in Africa) category.

Asamoah Gyan of Ghana,  Yaya Toure of Cote dÍvoire and Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo also made the list.

The winners of the two categories will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches/Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.

The Awards Gala will take place on Thursday, 8 January 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

Ivorian Yaya Toure was crowned African Player of the Year for the past three years whilst Mohamed Aboutreika of Egypt was named African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) last year.
