MSI Unveils Plans For 2014 Arugbo Gold Cup

The 2014 Annual Ado- Odo Ota Local Govt Sports Project tagged; The Arugbo Gold Cup, featuring Football and Boxing Extravaganza, will kick off on Sunday, 9 November 2014 inside The Joju Sports Stadium in Sango Ota, Ogun State.
The event, will be declared open by the very High performing Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Tournament Organizers Mundial Sports International, MSI, Ltd., in conjunction with the Ogun State Football Association, OGFA, has upgraded the Arugbo Gold Cup Football championship to a semi National Championship, as a total Of 32 teams drawn from Ogun, Lagos, Oyo and Edo states will take part in the championship.
Ogun State Football Association Chairman Alhaji Gani Majekodunmi said that the Arugbo Gold Cup has become one the most consistent tournaments in the state these past three years, hence the upgrade to a semi national championship.
Amongst the clubs that have so far registered for the Arugbo Gold Cup are
defending Champions, WUSU Football Academy of Ota, Golden Stars FC of Agbara, MSI Academy of Benin City, Millennium Football Academy of Lagos, Liberty Academy of Ibadan, Otubusin FC of Ijebu Ode, Gift FC of Abeokuta, Ewekoro United of Ewekoro, and Remo Youth Stars of Sagamu.
A release signed by Mundial Sports International CEO, Dr. Felix Okugbe, says that prize money for all categories of winners for this year’s event would double that of last year.
He said the third place and final matches would be played on Sunday, 28 December, 2014 inside the Joju Sports Stadium in Sango Ota.
Meanwhile, the organisers, led by MSI CEO, Dr. Felix Okugbe, say the Annual Arugbo Gold Cup Boxing Extravaganza, which is part of the Annual Arugbo Gold Cup Sports Project, apart from the usual ten bouts mix of ten Amateur and ten Professional bouts, will also take a semi international status this year.
It was gathered that the non title international bout featuring a local boxer, Tyson Oloye Tyson of Ogun State and the National Middleweight boxing Champion of Benin Republic.
Home Boy Boxing Sensation, Kazeem Iberu will also stage his National title belt against a National top Contender Mufu Young Lion of Lagos.
The event, slated for Boxing Day, 26 December 2014, will take place inside the Ultra-Modern Ijamido Town Hall in Ota at 4 pm.
Amongst other dignities also expected at both the football and boxing events are Ogun State Sports Commissioner, Dr. Lanre Tejuosho, his Lagos State counterpart, Enitan Oshodi, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo and the Olota of Ota, Oba Alani Oyede.
Okugbe has however assured that the 2014 Arugbo Gold Cup Football and Boxing projects would conform with all known international sporting standards.
