The Week 15 of the Lagos Junior League was eventful, as players featuring in the grassroots development initiative displayed great skills in their matches.
Surulere Sports City’s title ambitions were dealt a massive blow at the Legacy pitch on Sunday by a highly determined Mosan Okunola side. Despite dominating possession from start to finish of the Premier League match, the Sports City boys seemed to have a grudge with the back of the net.
Aside from missing a 76th minute penalty, the home team squandered a plethora of clean chances even when converting them would have been easier. The Mosan Okunola boys displayed some impressive discipline and concentration but such can’t be said about their bench who were majorly unruly.
Surulere FC was made to pay for their indiscretions in the 80th minute when Olowu Abubakar converted from a swift counter attack their only opportunity throughout the match giving Mosan an incredible victory.
In League 1, title hopefuls Ibeju Lekki were made to pay for some tactical errors by Agbado Oke Odo. The LASU pitch played home to this encounter on Sunday, and it was billed to be an easy one for the Lekki boys.
The Agbado Oke Odo boys had plans of their own dominating play and negating the physicality of their opponents. At the end of the encounter, Agbado Oke Odo Fc convincingly won by 2-0.
