Militants Delay Dolphins’ Preseason Trip

Reports say protesting ex-militants who blocked the East/West Road have delayed the preseason camping of Nigeria Premier League Club, Dolphins of Port Harcourt.
Media Officer of the team, China Acheru disclosed that Dolphins were set to leave for Oghara in Delta State on Wednesday, where they should have begun their tour/ camping ahead of the start of the new football season.
“However, on getting to Mbiama, just before Bayelsea State they could not go further because protesting ex-militants had blocked the highway”, Acheru told eyeonthesports.com in a press release.
According to him, Dolphins had to make a U-turn as there was no way forward for them.
“Dolphins then restarted their journey to Oghara on Thursday. The team will play in a preseason tournament at Sapele and may defend their Lotto trophy they won in Lagos last off season”, the Media Officer said.
Acheru further hinted that a few invited players have already joined the team on the trip to Oghara as well as those retained by the club.
