Mikel, Iwobi Arrive Eagles’ Camp

Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi have arrived the team’s Abuja camp ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against the Pharaohs of Egypt.

The qualifier against Egypt is scheduled to take place in Kaduna on 25 March, and to be followed by the return leg in Alexandria Egypt, on 29 March.

Mikel’s arrival early Monday, brought the total number of foreign-based players in camp to four. The other players are Aminu Umar and Shehu Abdullahi.

It was gathered that goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa and forward, Oghenekaro Etebo were the only home-based players in camp out of the six home-based players left in Coach Samson Siasia’s list.

Chibuzor Okonkwo, Matthew Etim, Ifeanyi Matthew and Kalu Orji are yet to arrive after playing for their clubs in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches.

The six home-based players will join their foreign-based counterparts for the match against Egypt. Nineteen foreign-based players are expected to arrive the team’s camp in Abuja later on Monday.
