MFM FC Compounds Shooting Stars’ Woes

Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Football Club FC defeated Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan 1-0 on Match Day 24 of NPFL to compounded the relegation problems confronting the Ibadan side.

The South West derby lived up to its high profile billing with both teams playing good football to the admiration of the spectators.

3sc’s Abu Azeez came up with a cracker that hit the post early in the 3rd minute of the first half and the trio of Ayobami Junior, Ajani Ibrahim and Abu Azeez terrorised the defence of the Olukoya boys.

However in the 21st minute of the encunter, Shinshinma Sunday got the only goal of the game off a beautiful footwork from Sikiru Olatunbosun.

This gingered the Oluyole Warriors to take full control of proceedings but the away side missed chances in the 29th, 33rd minute, while the worst miss came in the 46th minute when Adebayo Ibrahim missed target from the six yards out with an empty net at his mercy.

The second half of the game produced no goal with 3SC missing scoring chances and MFM playing to the gallery to run out the time.

With the time wasting tactics of the home team, MFM coach Fidelis Ilechukwu was sent to the stands in the 83rd for an act of indiscipline.

Speaking after the game, assistant coach of MFM Fc Aliu Usman was delighted with the hard fought victory and gave kudos to the officiating of the game, while 3SC Coach Fatai Amoo lamented the lost chances of his team.
