For assaulting a Police Officer while carrying out his legitimate duty, Ibrahim Aminu Olawale, (male) has been remanded in prison, eyeonthenews.com reports.
According to the IPO Officer, Henry Ndubuisi, the suspect was found guilty of the two offences at number 101 Awolowo Way in Ikeja, Lagos, on 29 August, 2015.
“The suspect, Ibrahim, was blowing a Police Officer, by name; ASP Ihiezu Fidelis (male) and at the same time injuring the Officer, using a hammer to hit him on the head, while on official duty, thereby committing an offence.”
The first count was; the suspect blowing the Police Officer, which is punishable under section 171 (b) of criminal laws, No.11 Vol.44 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.
The Second Count was; the suspect using a hammer to injure the Officer, which is punishable under section 244 of the Criminal Laws, NO.11 Vol.44 Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.
The Magistrate on seat, Mrs. O. Olonipekun, said the offences committed by the suspect was punishable under the law.
The Court however, granted the suspect bail, on the condition of paying N50,000, with the Surety having paid TAX for a year, not more than N14,000 a Year.
