Man In Court For ‘Raping’ Wife’s Sister

For allegedly raping wife’s sister, a 55-year-old businessman, Segun Olukoya, was brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Olukoya, a resident of Adeniyi Street, Ikeja, Lagos, is being tried for rape.

According to the prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, the accused committed the offence on October 17 at his residence.

He said that the accused raped his wife’s 22-year-old sister (name withheld).

“The accused had canal knowledge of his wife’s sister,” he said.

Ogu said that the accused went to the victim’s room and gave her N5,000 for free.

“The accused entered the girl’s room and gave her N5,000 to make her hair. The victim collected the money and thanked the accused because that was the first time the accused could give her money.

“The accused started touching her body indiscriminately, the victim pushed him away, he carried her to her bed and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her,” he said.

The prosecutor said that the accused threatened to evict her from his house if she tells her sister.

“The accused warned the girl not to tell her sister, threatening to send her packing,” he said.

According to the prosecutor, the girl told her sister everything that happened between her and her husband and her sister reported the case at a Police Station.

The offence contravened Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The Section prescribes life jail term for rape.

The accused pleaded innocence of the offence and was granted bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The Magistrate, Mr T. Akanni said that the sureties should be gainfully employed and show evidences of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

The case was adjourned to November 17 for mention.
