Lagos Junior League Teams Battle For Crucial Points

As the Lagos Junior League, LJL, enters its penultimate week, the drama is nearing its climax and all the main actors are set for their final appearances.
In the Premier League, Apapa Golden Stars, currently the main actor after benefiting from Y.M.D. Babes of Ojo’s loss to Surulere Sport City FC last weekend; Ojo are second on equal points with Apapa, but with a slightly less goal difference.
The goal machines of the League, Ifako Ijaiye FKJ Warriors are currently third by virtue of a far superior goal difference to fourth-placed Surulere FC.
The main event this weekend is the crunch tie between Ifako Ijaiye FKJ Warriors and Surulere Sport City FC at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere on Saturday afternoon. For the betting masses, this game cannot be devoid of goals. Ifako Ijaiye possess such fire power only witnessed in the league during the reign of Nath Boys FC.
Only a fortnight ago, the Ifako boys demolished Apapa Iganmu 12-0 and killed off Ajeromi Ifelodun 7-2 last week. Ifako’s ruthlessness in front of goal has seen them score a whooping 56 goals in only 17 games, only Manchester City can match that. However, their only notable weakness is their back line which has conceded 21 goals, the highest of the top ten teams in the Premier league.
Surulere FC on the other hand have a more balanced team but they need to address commitment issues within their ranks if they are to win the title deciding encounter.
In other premier League matches, Mosan Okunola will host Agege Giants at Alade stadium on Sunday afternoon; Oriade will host Ojo Babes, while Ajeromi Ifelodun will look to redeem themselves when they take on Onigbongbo Ultimate Strikers.
In League 1, Ojodu’s slump continued during their mid week match against leaders Orile Agege as they went down 3-0. Orile Agege look destined to win the League 1 title this season with just a match standing in their way.
Egbe idimu however bounced back from their week 17 title breaking defeat to Orile Agege when they beat Ikosi Isheri 2-1 at Onikan stadium on Wednesday to retain hope of a top three finish.
Ibeju Lekki will also host Iba while Agbado Oke Odo will face Shomolu in a feudal affair on Saturday evening at Alade Stadium.
