Lagos Junior League Hots Up

.As Onigbongbo Disgrace Lagos Mainland 8-0 In Week 12 Match –

Followers of the Lagos Junior League, LJL, will not forget the 12th Week of the ongoing Premier League in a hurry.
Prior to the weekend, Onigbongbo were still licking the wounds of their week 11 loss to Ojo Babes, but things changed for them as they demolished Lagos Mainland 8-0 in a largely one sided affair.
Mayowa Olorunfemi and Chiwendu Ogochukwu both banged in a hat-trick each for Onigbongbo, ensuring that Lagos Mainland continue with their poor runs and languishing at the bottom quarter of the table.
In the most anticipated match of the week, Ifako Ijaiye recorded their second loss in three matches and fell rather dramatically to Y.M.D Babes of Ojo.
After a rather level and interesting first half, Ifako Ijaiye went on to conceded four goals in the second half to end the game 5-1.
Agege Giants also recorded their second defeat of the season when they were overpowered by an early goal from Pelumi Rahaman. Also, Eti Osa East held on in a manner reminiscent of EPL’s Chelsea FC and defended resolutely to secure a 1-0 victory.
In another exciting encounter, Oyeniran Usman’s brace was on hand to help Lagos Island East secure a 3-0 victory over Itire Ikate at the Agege Stadium to the delight of Coach Hassan Taiwo.
In other matches, Apapa Iganmu recorded their first victory of 2014 with a 4-1 win over Mushin, League leaders Surulere FC endured a torrid afternoon before overcoming a rugged Lagos Island East 2-1, while Ajeromi Ifelodun and Oshodi managed a 1-1 draw at the Alade Stadium.
