As the 2013/2014 Lagos Junior League season edges closer to its end, some teams are scrambling frantically to secure the favourable top spots, some are hoping to better their previous year’s performance while the others are content with remaining in their current divisions.
The title race in the Premier League is as close as ever, as Apapa Golden Stars, Ojo Y.M.D Babes and Surulere Sport City FC all secured victories during their week 14 encounters defeating Ajeromi Ifelodun, Lagos Mainland and Mushin respectively.
Both Apapa and Ojo have 35 points while Surulere sit just a point below them but with a game at hand.
Surulere FC still sulking from their defeat in the hands of Apapa, bounced back to wallop Mushin 5-0 with Bashiru Bangbopa scoring a brace.
The League 1 title race is equally competitive. Ojodu Fc lead the pack on 36 points but hot on their heels iare the boys from Ibeju Lekki, Egbe idinmu and Orile Agege with the trio on 35 points, on 34 points is Lekki FC who still nurses some title ambitions.
All the five teams sealed the needed maximum points in their week 14 matches and each of team effectively has his fate in his own hands, as a simple draw can effectively ruin any hope of the title with just five matches left in the season.
