Kosofe Crash In Lagos Junior League

The Lagos Junior League, LJL matches played at the weekend recorded some heartwarming results as some lowly rated teams won their games, while the overrated sides fumbled at the end of their encounters.
Amongst the top rated teams on the log are third placed Kosofe Football Club, who fell 1-3 to Oshodi Isolo in their match on Saturday.
The boys from Oshodi Isolo showed some class with deft their touches and overpowered Kosofe. Goals from Michael Oluwaseun, Omotayo Amusu and Ayomideji Oladapo sealed Kosofe’s fate.
The only succour for Kosofe in the one-sided encounter came with Agbaoku Ganiu’s goal, leaving their opponents to snatch away the maximum points.
Itire Ikate also slumped to a 1-2 defeat when they battled inform Onigbongbo Football Club in another crunchy match. Babatunde Taofiq mistakenly slotted the ball inside his own net in the 6th minute to give Onigbongbo an unexpected lead.
The game was then dead-locked till Chijioke sealed the three points at stake for his side in the 75th minute, while Ishola Ayo reduced the tally by scoring a goal for Itire Ikate FC towards the end of the match.
In the battle of the Island teams, Lagos Island East and their rivals from Lagos Island (Eko Akete), shared the spoils at the Agege Stadium.
The heavy downpour did not stop the titans from taking the game to each other, but the scoreline remained 1-1 at regulation time.
Some matches were also played in the division one of the Lagos Junior League.
