Stephen Keshi is undecided over his recall to his position as Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, saying he needs some time to think about the possibility of working for Nigeria again.
The Big Boss, as Keshi is fondly called, was reacting to a recent directive from Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan, who ordered the Nigeria Football Feeration, NFF, to recall Keshi back to his position.
Keshi, who spoke on a live television programme on Thursday declared: “I appreciate the gesture of President Jonathan and I sincerely thank him for recalling me back. But I have not said I would take the job, I’ve not decided on it because I need some time to ponder over it.
Should Keshi makes up his mind to take back the Eagles’ job, the Nigerian fans will be hoping that he invites Ik Uche and other top players for the games against Congo and South Africa.
It would be recaled that Coach Shuaibu Amodu was brought in to salvage Nigeria’s qualification for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after the NFF refused to renew Keshi’s expired contract this year.
Meanwhile, the High Court sitting in Jos, Plateau State on Thursday spiked the case earlier instituted against the newly elected President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick, following the withdrawal of the suit by Chris Giwa, a factional leader of the body.
In another development, the NFF Appeals Committee are holding a meeting in Abuja, and may annul Pinnick’s election today.
