Keshi, NFF Should Settle Rift, Warns Eguavoen

.FRIENDS OR FOES? Coach Stephen Keshi (r) with NFF President, Aminu Maigari and NFF Vice President, Mike Umeh share a joke when the going was good. Things are not at peace between the body and Keshi. –

Former Super Eagles Head Coach, Austin Eguavoen, has appealed to Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi and the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to work harmoniously ahead of 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Eguavoen said in Lagos on Tuesday that any distraction as the Eagles prepare for Brazil 2014 would not be in Nigeria’s interest at the World Cup.
“I will appeal to NFA and Keshi to bury their hatchet, and let’s focus on the World Cup. We shouldn’t bring in troubles at this point in time. I will also say Keshi has always remained focused, he should remain focused.
“Because distractions can lead to a lot of negative things; so let him remain focused, he and NFF have been battling over many issues for so long.
“And let’s see how far we can go in the world championship for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians who are so passionate about football that they need results so badly”.
It would be recalled that the vetting of Keshi’s provisional World Cup list is at the centre of disagreement between the coach and his employers, while the body is still owing him about four months salary arrears.
