ITF Tourney: Russia-Born Melissa Arrives Cairo To Play For Nigeria

Newly discovered Russia-born Nigerian tennis star, Ifidzhen Melissa is the first player to arrive at the Team Nigeria camp for the ITF/CAT U-18 Championship holding from 6-10 April in Cairo, Egypt, eyeonthesports.com reports.
Nigeria Tennis Federation, NTF President, Engr. Sani Ndanusa confirmed that the 16-year old jetted straight to Cairo for the tournament, which will feature over 80 participants from about 20 countries across Africa.
“Melissa’s dad just called to inform me that he is now in Cairo with his daughter, who will play for her fatherland. This is the first time she will be coming to Africa to play and her early arrival is good for her to acclimatize”, Ndanusa told eyeonthesports.com.
“I spoke with her and she is eager to make a very good outing in her first competition as a Nigerian player”, the NTF boss stated.
