Latest reports claim the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, may announce a poll shift on Saturday, 7 January, 2015.
A report in newsbreak.ng says that a shift of the election dates is fait accompli.
The online news portal quoted a source, who said that the INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, has no choice than to announce the already scripted shift.
The source informed that there are worries that distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards in the South is a far cry from what has been achieved in the north, particularly in the northeast even in spite of the turbulence happening there.
Kayode Idowu, INEC spokesperson, had on Thursday said that said the commission “will address a press conference to brief the nation on its decision with regard to whether or not the general elections will hold as currently scheduled.”
