Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona has dispelled rumours that he is a bench warmer at his new club because he can’t speak the Turkish language.
Rather the player said he is happy at Ritzespur FC in Turkey and has been well taken care of by the management of the club in the best possible way.
“So far I have played two games for the club and even scored in one of the test matches, but you will recall that I did not do pre-season with the club and the manager is trying to see my potentials before he throws me in. However, they have been very professional in the way they treat me.” Oboabona reveals that at times he will not be dressed for a game and yet he will be paid his match bonus.
“That shows the amount of respect they have for me and I must say to all concerned Nigerians that I am very happy in Turkey”. Speaking further, the former Sunshine Stars of Akure captain, said at the moment the Turkish side have 13 foreign players and only six can be dressed for games and most times he’s one of them.
That alone, according to Oboabona, shows he has a bright future at the club. “I can confidently say that sooner than later, I will become a regular at the club, I just pray against injuries”, he said.
